Welcome to the Peace Choir Web Page

Peace Lutheran Choir 2009 grp

 Who We Are

The choir is made up of individuals working together to create a harmony. We represent many age groups from the congregation, with a wide spectrum of personalities and backgrounds—a true cross section of the congregation. We welcome all who wish to make music to join us, regardless of your musical background or capabilities.

Our primary purpose is to lead the congregation praising God in worship and song. Secondarily we learn together, have fun and fellowship, and support one another as a choir family.

The music we sing ranges from prayerful to joyous, from ancient to modern, from the usual to the unusual.

 How We Do It:

  •  Sunday Service:

We sing for Sunday worship from September through May or early June, with one Sunday off (occasionally two) each month, depending on the liturgical calendar. Normally the choir meets for Sunday rehearsal at 9:45am (during the months when Sunday services begin at 10:30am).

  •  Thursday Rehearsal:

Our routine is to start rehearsals promptly at 7pm and we typically rehearse for an hour unless there is a special holiday service or special music we are preparing, such as a larger work.

  •  Special Music:

Many members of the Choir provide special music (vocal and instrumental) throughout the year. If you have a musical offering you would like to sing or play, please reach out to Jon Lackey, Minister of Music. We are always delighted to have you share your talents.
