* Family LunchFamily Lunch

Time: 11:30 AM

Help us spend $3200 on social ministry projects or groups this year! As you recall, last year was our first experience sharing the $49,000 gift from the former Calvary Lutheran Church. We are spreading the gift over 10 years! In 2017 you helped with the decision to donate $1600 to both Mary's Place family shelter in White Center (for bunk beds) and to Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services. (The $1700 balance paid for budgeted social ministry programs.) So after worship Sunday May 6, take part in the monthly Family Meal in fellowship hall - and vote for your choice of places to put our $3200 this year! Something familiar - or a new project! Our Social Ministry team will host this lunch and solicit your suggestions!

* CAMP PENUEL, COSTA RICA CAMP PENUEL, COSTA RICA

Time: 9:15 AM

PRESENTATION ON CAMP PENUEL, COSTA RICA Sunday, May 27 at 9:15 am Lois Finney (mother of Leah Peterson and grandmother to Harmon and Lawrence) will share during the Sunday school hour. Founded in 2002, Camp Penuel Costa Rica EACH Year provides over 750 children with a chance to experience 3 days of camp. Here children experience activities such as playing games, doing crafts, going on nature walks, sharing meals, swimming, and just being kids, all the while receiving love and understanding from trained staff. The children are brought to the Camp by various organizations and churches. The Camp strives to link the children with organizations in their neighborhoods to continue support once they return home. These children are our leaders of tomorrow. They need to know that they are loved and that others care about them. Camp offers an opportunity to know God’s love. Through that love and the love of others, they develop a strong self-esteem and an outlook of hope for a bright future. Over 75% of the children and youth continue to be active in their churches and have brought others to know the Lord in their hearts. Praise to the Lord!! : www.cp-cr.org
