Sermon Title: Angels: Messengers of God

(Daniel 10:10-14, Daniel 12:1-3, Revelation 12:7-12)

Rev. Erik Kindem, September 29, 2019

Quick Summary:

An after dinner walk to find chocolate leads to an encounter with Marc Chagall's series of etchings on THE BIBLE, and raises the question of the role of God's messengers - the angels - in human affairs.

These messengers of God are part of that invisible realm of the Sacred of whom we are unaware until their mission brings them within the sphere of human intuition and/or senses. The love they bear, so different from the "charity" we associate with love, could easily be mistaken for "ferocity." (CS Lewis.) Such a ferocious love is not intended to consume or ingest us, as Satan intends, but to bring us liberation by opening our eyes to the reality of God's presence in us and around us and between us. BE NOT AFRAID.
