Sermon Title: Recognizing the Risen One

(John 21:1-19, Acts 9:1-20)

Rev. Erik Kindem, May 5, 2019

Quick Summary:

After two encounters with Jesus behind locked doors in Jerusalem, Jesus appears for a third time after Simon Peter and others have arrived back in Galilee. They know there's something they should be doing, but not at all sure what it is. So they go back to what they know: fishing.

When an all night fishing expedition leaves the nets empty, a strange - yet - familiar voice from shore directs them where to go, and the resulting catch opens their eyes to see the Risen Jesus in their midst.

This sermon explores the question: Where can we expect the Risen One to show up in our lives, and how do we recognize him when he comes?
