Sermon Title: Finding Refuge in Him

(Isaiah 61:1-11, John 1:19-28)

Rev. Erik Kindem, December 17, 2017

Quick Summary:

With the darkest days of the year upon us, the darkness I find myself eager to be on the other side of isn't so much the astronomical darkness that characterizes life in late December at this latitude, but the intractable problems, conflicts, crises, and battles that never seem to cease.

The 5th anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary massacre along with the crisis facing millions of refugees, many of them children, leave us looking for a way forward. We find it in the prophetic words of Isaiah and in John's witness to the "one who stands among you whom you do not know."
