Erik P. Kindem, Pastor

It’s been my privilege to serve the people of Peace since February 1, 2005 with my partner in life, Christine.  I have experienced Peace as a grace-filled place where hearts and hands are open and extended outward.  I am blessed to be father to two adult children, Nathan (spouse Deyhdra) and Megan (spouse Tyler), as well as two younger ones ~ Kai and Naomi.

I’m a 1979 graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington (Bachelor of Arts) and a 1985 graduate of Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota (Master of Divinity). Ordained in 1986, my service includes: Director of Lutheran Ministry with Native Americans in Northwestern California (1986-1991); Registrar, Holden Village, Chelan, Washington, (1991-1993); pastorates in Oregon and Washington (1995-2005); service as Peace pastor (2005-present).

Nicole Klinemeier, Director of Youth & Family Ministry

Seattle has been home for myself and my husband Kevin since 2000.  My education includes a Bachelor of Science from Kansas State University and a Masters of Arts in Youth and Family Ministry from Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota.  I think working with the youth in a congregation is the most exciting place to be. I love their passion, enthusiasm, questions, ideas, and watching it all come together.  I have served in congregations in Kansas, Minnesota, and Seattle, and have worked with children and youth at camps, a community center, churches, and a environmental center.

Jon Lackey, Minister of Music

Raised in Seattle, I graduated from Shorecrest High School and was active with my family at Phinney Ridge Lutheran and Bethel Lutheran of Shoreline.  I began studying music seriously as a young person (piano starting at age 11 and voice at 15), and was the winner of the Seattle Opera Young Artist’s Competition prior to starting music studies at Pacific Lutheran University.   My subsequent music career has included solo performances, recitals and appearances with orchestras internationally, as well as being active as a church musician in various places around the world.

Teaching has also been part of my vocation.  I have taught on the faculties of Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria, Virginia and Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, and taught music courses as a guest lecturer at the American College in Paris.  Most recently I served as the Minister of Music (organist and choir master), at Graham Road United Methodist Church in Falls Church, Virginia.   In 2011, my partner, James Jelasic, and I moved back to the Seattle area.  I look forward eagerly to my new position as Minister of Music (organist and choir director) at Peace.
