Sermon Title: God's Infuriating Generosity

(Jonah 3:10-4:11, Matthew 20:1-16)

The human species is hard-wired to judge when a something is fair and when it’s unfair, and today we’re given two stories about fairness that put us in touch with the infuriating generosity of God.

Being fair is a good thing. Justice in the workplace is important. But what if our relationship with God isn’t first and foremost about fairness or about what I get from God, but rather about God's generosity toward us, and God's heart of compassion that desires that everyone have enough?
