UNPACKING THE 2017 LWF ASSEMBLY (8 Sessions) Eldon and Marcia Olson attended the Lutheran World Federation International Assembly in Windhoek, Namibia, this past May. The overarching theme for the assembly during this 500th anniversary year of the Reformation was: Liberated by God's Grace. The three sub-themes: Salvation is not for Sale; Humanity is not for Sale; Creation is not for Sale. During October and November we’ll spend two weeks on each of these four themes, beginning with a Bible Study based on LWF resources in the first week, then moving into a “so what/now what” discussion of each respective theme during the second week. (No adult class will be held on October 15, Bread for the World Offering of Letters Sunday. Instead, you are invited to participate in a cross-generational advocacy experience that Sunday.)

The community responded - opening up a small food bank in the old Boy's and Girl's Club in White Center, later moving to the basement of a local church. From there, the White Center Food Bank was born. Yet - even today - our neighbors still go hungry. We are still trying to keep White Center fed. This is why you matter. Please join us and help continue our shared mission that started over 40 years ago. You can make a difference in our neighborhood.
