Welcome to the Peace Choir Web Page

Peace Lutheran Choir 2009 grp

The Basics

The Choir is made up of twenty three individuals working together to create harmony.  We represent many age groups from the congregation, with a wide spectrum of personalities and backgrounds—a true cross section of the congregation.  We welcome all who wish to make music for the joy of the Lord to join us, regardless of your musical background or capabilities.

Our primary purpose is to lead the congregation praising God in worship and song.  Secondarily we strive to have fun.

The music we sing ranges from prayerful to joyous, from ancient to modern, from the usual to the unusual.  This choir is very open to trying most anything placed before them.

The Specifics:

We sing at Sunday worship from September through May, with one Sunday off each month.  We also participate in our Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday worship services.  Many members of the Choir provide special music throughout the year.

We strive to learn special music for specific Sundays during the year.  This year we are preparing two cantatas; one for Epiphany and one for Palm Sunday.

An annual favorite each Easter the Choir along with members of the Congregation join together in a rousing performance of Handel’s Halleluiah Chorus, from The Messiah as a grand conclusion to the worship.

Upcoming Events:

Wednesday November 25, 2009, join us at our annual Thanksgiving Eve service as we give thanks to God for our blessings.  Afterward share a piece of pie at our pie social.  The Choir will be singing Golden Sheaves, an old English carol.

Thursday, December 24, 2009 is our Christmas Eve Service. Members of the Congregation will be performing select music before the service. Come early and share in this musical expression of the coming of Christ.

Sunday, January 3, 2010, In celebration of Epiphany, the Season of Light, the Choir will perform Lloyd Larson’s cantata Love’s Pure Light, a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ and the light he brings to the world.
